The role of ICT:
The OpenEqaula, learning social networking is built on moodle, and some year of expertise working in ITC for support the educational process. From 2007, eqaula create the site and improve this.
We believe the software is a simple media for get a major objective, the OpenEqaula is a moodle platform with social networking functionality create for us, for attend the Latin America context.
In the social networking the teachers can create a learning space, publish content and create activities, then invite students for start interaction over learning space. All content and activities are part of global repository (Social OCW). We believe thats contenct, is usefull for other teacher and other students in other word places.
The network born in Loja, Ecuador. Loja is small town at south xtreme, but eqaula believe the big things are posible form small places.
Target groups and impact:
Initially the network was create for University teachers and students, actually over 6000 people use OpenEqaula into learning process freenly and free charges.
Some learning space was create for high school teachers, and yours students use the network for participate in forums, download documents and connect with other students the others institutions.
For the teachers, the network, is a big place for fount other experiences and ways for teach.

2009, the network has over 3000 users Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Mexico and other countries of Latin America
2010, the Universidad Nacional de Loja, adopt the network for support your presencial carer. Over 60 teacher make capable for use it, and over 1500 students beneficiary.
