Summary:
The project is based on cooperation between young people in Europe and Asia. 'Young Diplomats' started in 2007 and is continued succesfully year by year with the new subjects. Fist of all students of schools from Asia and Europe presented their national holidays to let know the others more about their own traditions and country. The second phase expressed culture exchange across the continents. Next year we focused on World Heritage chains in both continents, including human heritages which express original traditions across two continents. This year we have run 'Nature & Culture' with alive Facebook platform for students cooperation - http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=wall&gid=176178995185 with fantastic collection of original resources of photos and movies about the city nature and the dance.
We use all possible software to let young people to interact with themselves, as well as to share ideas and views on main subjects. Vision, objectives and goals:
The goal of the project is to create a Asia Europe Classroom and to let young people to interact with themselves. They discuss, they share knowledge, they learn from themselves about the culture and traditions as well as about the enviroment - nature in both continents. We can observe a kind of passion with exchanging views. We can observe the fast growing friendships between students, as well as in the coordinators circle - the teachers. There was a face to face meeting (besides of Asia Europe Classroom Network conferences) like travel of Polish teacher to Delhi (India) and meeting with all teachers and students taking part in the project - in February 2010.
The role of ICT:
ICT is the basis to archive goals. The interactive websites let students to meet and work together. More over, we are using multimedia to share resources.
Target groups and impact:
Target groups are students from Europe and Asia. They have much more knowledge about themselves thanks to this projects. Working together in one, a kind of virtual classroom is very exiting for them and let them to be open to the others. Friendship, undersdanding, tolerance, etc are the main goals of our 'Young Diplomats' large program.
