As a global networker, The Stockholm Challenge encourages collaboration between organisations for mutual benefit. One way for others to participate in the Challenge is by becoming a Challenge Champion.
Challenge Champions are usually representatives of an organisation who undertake to ensure that all the projects in their networks make the most of the Stockholm Challenge Opportunity. This can be by recommending to others that they take part in the Challenge, but we also encourage Champions to support those participants by helping with translations, proof-reading and, for those who become finalists and winners, promoting those achievements and maybe even helping to raise travel funds.
Champions promote the value of ICT in their regions via their networks of projects, companies, local funding bodies and governments. Via the Stockholm Challenge they can also demonstrate the ICT competence and innovation of their communities We exchange links with Challenge Champions who are entitled to use a unique linking logo on their web sites, and we acknowledge their work in many ways.
All Champions will be invited to come to Stockholm for the final event in May 2008, to participate in the exhibition, conference and the prize giving event and gala dinner.
If you would like to become a Challenge Champion for the current round of the Challenge, encouraging projects to participate or helping them in their quest to become Challenge finalists, contact The Challenge secretariat.
We are especially interested in potential mentors who are fully bi-lingual in English and another language, especially Spanish or one of the major Chinese or Indian languages.
